Celcom Africa provides messaging services - SMS, WhatsApp, USSD, email and airtime - to businesses across Africa. This policy explains how we handle personal data when you use our platform or visit our website.
Data we collect
Account information you provide (name, company, email, phone), message data processed on behalf of our customers, usage and billing records, and technical data such as IP addresses and device information.
How we use data
To deliver and improve our services, route and report on messages, prevent fraud and abuse, meet regulatory obligations in the countries where we operate, and communicate with you about your account.
Legal bases & compliance
We process data in line with the GDPR, Kenya's Data Protection Act, Nigeria's NDPA, South Africa's POPIA and other applicable African data-protection laws.
Data sharing
We share data with mobile network operators and partners only as required to deliver messages, with regulators where legally obliged, and with service providers under data-processing agreements. We never sell personal data.
Retention & security
Message and account data is retained only as long as operationally and legally required, protected with encryption in transit and at rest, access controls and audit logging.
Your rights
